The Marriage Preparation Course

Getting ready for your wedding day can be exciting but stressful.  Along with all the practical preparations it's good to take some time together to look at your relationship.

Couples who have attended the course have said how they appreciated the chance to gain skills for growing their relationship. It gave them insight into their differences and how to manage conflict, as well as time to reflect on shared goals and values.

Prior to doing the course, we suggest that couples complete the FOCCUS inventory on-line (take a look at the sample statements at www.foccus.org.uk).  Responding to the inventory enables couples to see how well they know each other and highlights areas it would be good to talk about some more.  This online service costs £10.

The Marriage Preparation Course follows on from FOCCUS.  It consists of 5 lively, varied DVD sessions about what it takes to make a marriage work.  Each session includes clips of couples from different backgrounds sharing about their own relationship with honesty and humour. There is also time to discuss each topic with your partner. 

We run our courses either in a local restaurant or in homes depending on the number of couples.  The format of the course enables couples to enjoy an evening out together as well as laying good foundations for their marriage through effective communication.

The Marriage Preparation Course costs £50 per couple and includes the cost of all meals and materials.
