We condemn those who drive at 100mph, but are happy to drive at 80mph ourselves. It is this hypocritical judgment that Jesus condemns in this passage from the Sermon on the Mount. Jesus talks in Matthew 6 24 – 34 about worry and anxiety. This is a very relevant topic in today’s society where we are constantly bombarded with images and suggestions on how to look and feel better, be more attractive, more stylish, more successful , wealthier etc. etc. These images tug at our own desires and feed our natural selfish natures to the point where we can lose sight of the real treasure!
