| | The culture of a nation is shaped by the 7 ‘mountains’ of business, the arts, media, government, education, family and spirituality. Phil examines how Christians can be at the forefront of influencing and shaping these mountains in response to Jesus’ call to ‘go and make disciples of all nations’. He looks at knowing which ‘mountain’ we should be on and how to take the first steps in climbing them. | |

| | Andy begins a mini series on Prayer. Using the Lords Prayer as a structure for our prayers Andy looks to unpack the context of Jesus answer to the question we all want to ask but seldom do “Teach us how to Pray”. (Playfoot, 2010) | |
| | Connect 12: Choices of Convenience or Courage | Andy Robinson | | | Connect | | Downloads: | 214 | | Recorded: | 08/01/2012 | | Length: | 38 minutes | | Reference: | 2 Timothy 1:3-9 |
| | Andy looks at how we often make choices of convenience rather than courage. We all make New Years Resolutions and more often than not they are the same ones year after year. Andy asks “Why is that” and concludes it is because we make choices of convenience rather than courage. Looking at Paul’s call to Timothy to fan into flame his gift, not being ashamed of the gospel Andy looks at how we reject a spirit of cowardice or timidity and chose the bold life of power and self-control. | |
| | Connect 11: Will you be my friend? | Andy Robinson | | | Connect | | Downloads: | 262 | | Recorded: | 11/12/2011 | | Length: | 36 minutes | | Reference: | 1 Corinthians 9:19-23 |
| | Andy looks at the desire in our culture for friends. He examines the success of FACEBOOK and TWITTER and suggest that they meet the huge desire in each of us to have and make friends. He goes on to ask those of us who are Christians are we perceived as friends of sinners or are we only friends with Christians. Looking at Paul’s call to us that we be “all things to all people” so that we might see some connected to Jesus Andy asks us what are we going to do to change and be those who connect | |
| | | Connect 10: Expect the Unexpected | Phil Playfoot | | | Connect | | Downloads: | 75 | | Recorded: | 04/12/2011 | | Length: | 44 minutes |
| | God has broken into this world and right from the beginning He met with people right where they were and in a way that grabbed their attention. He is still doing the same and we can be confident that God is already at work in the hearts of our non Christian neighbours, friends and family, and work colleagues. Don’t let’s limit our expectation of who God is speaking to. Let us expect the unexpected and be bold with our invitations to Christmas events and the Alpha course in the New Year. | |
| | Connect 9: Gossip, Gripes and Grumbles | Andy Robinson | | | Connect | | Downloads: | 247 | | Recorded: | 27/11/2011 | | Length: | 49 minutes | | Reference: | Matthew 18:15-20 |
| | As part of the Connect series Andy tackles the thorny subject of Gossip, Gripes and Grumbles. From Matthew 18 he looks at the steps Jesus gave us for dealing with conflict in the church. Unpacking this famous verse Andy suggests that the passage is not about justice or proving who is right or wrong but about re-connecting to one another and winning over your brother! Andy then gives a 5 step process for us to consider with some real practical advice. | |
| | Connect 8: Building Authentic Community | Phil Playfoot | | | Connect | | Downloads: | 128 | | Recorded: | 20/11/2011 | | Length: | 41 minutes | | Reference: | Ephesians 2:21-22 |
| | Phil spoke about the differences between personalities and highlighted how the disciples were all so different from one another. We are joined together by the Spirit and he encouraged us to rejoice that we are different from one another. We are all works in progress so don't give up on yourself. | |
| | Connect 7: Connectors not Disconnectors | Andy Robinson | | | Connect | | Downloads: | 278 | | Recorded: | 13/11/2011 | | Length: | 44 minutes | | Reference: | Matthew 13:24-30 |
| | Andy continues the CONNECT series by again returning to the
CONNECTING TO JESUS topic where he uses the parable of the weeds to explain how both the devil, and our natural responses
to wrongdoing, to the weeds, is DISCONNECTION, separation as
we look to root the weeds out. Andy demonstrates that this is
not the way of the kingdom. The kingdom way is CONNECTION as
in our eagerness to root out the weeds we may also destroy some
of the good crop that is entangled with the bad. | |
