What happens on Sunday mornings?
Welcome Each week there are people who will look out for, welcome and look after newcomers. Literature about the church is also available.
Worship The first part of the meeting, which usually lasts 30-40 minutes, focuses on who God is and what He has done. It is an opportunity to express our love and devotion to God through songs, prayer and readings from the Bible. The style of music is contemporary and we use electric and acoustic guitars, drums, keyboard. There is opportunity for church members to share things that they feel God wants to say to us.
Financial Giving Giving money is part of our worship. We recognise that all we have belongs to God, and giving expresses that God is in charge of every part of our lives including our finances. If you are a visitor you are not expected to give. You can let the offering bags go by without embarrassment.
Church News We take the opportunity to update people on important events that are happening in the life of the church, welcome visitors, welcome in new church members, pray for people and situations, and hear stories of answered prayer.
Bible based talk We believe that God has inspired every part of the Bible and through it we understand who God is, what He has done, what He wants to say to us and how we should live. We have found the Bible to be absolutely relevant to life in the 21st century. The talk from the Bible helps us to understand and apply its truths to our lives. This normally lasts 30-35 minutes.
Prayer Towards the end of the meeting there is usually an opportunity to receive prayer in response to the talk, for healing or any personal need.
Children & Youth We run a programme for children and youth from 0-18 years. Crèche (0-2+yrs), Minimix (3-4yrs), Megamix Kidz Klub (school years 1-6), The Bomb (school years 7-13). Details of these groups are available each Sunday at the Welcome Desk.
Communion We break bread and drink wine together as Jesus taught us to remember His death, resurrection and future return to the earth. This happens on a Sunday morning every 5-6 weeks and also in our cell groups.
Refreshments Refreshments are served after the meeting from 12.15pm. This is an opportunity for people to chat and get to know each other. People are welcome to go or stay as they please after the meeting.
Induction Loop and Disabled Access
We provide an induction loop for those with hearing aids. This is located in the block of chairs in front of the mixing desk.
All areas where we meet on a Sunday morning are accessible to wheelchair users and there are toilets with wheelchair access.
On arrival at Tanbridge House School, please park as directed and follow the signs to the Sports Hall.
Other Sunday Activities
Baptisms Three or four times a year we baptise people. We do this because Jesus taught us that on becoming a Christian this is the way we express that we have died to our old way of life, have been given a new life, and are now living for Him. We take time to hear the stories of how the people getting baptised became Christians.
Evenings
We hold regular meetings for worship, prayer, training and equipping. Contact us to find out what is on.
