Shoebox Appeal 2017

Christmas time gives us a special opportunity to share.

Over the last few years we have been supporting projects to help some of the neediest families in Brasov, Romania. This is primarily through the Homework Club run by Lacramoira Burne for school age children from very deprived backgrounds so they can keep up with their education.

We also send Christmas shoeboxes that are taken into schools and given to children from needy families. A Christmas shoebox of gifts is often the only present these people will receive. Your gift really will make a difference.

How to send a Christmas Shoebox to a family in Romania.

  1. Get a strong shoebox – Around size 8 adult
  2. Buy your gifts – Something for all ages in the family
  3. Make a list of items as you pack them
  4. Enclose a photograph of yourself if you wish
  5. ‘Craciun Fericit’ – Romanian for ‘Merry Christmas”
  6. Tape the lid to the box
  7. Wrap with Christmas wrapping paper
  8. Tape contents list (opposite) to top of box
  9. Tape £3 to cover transport

Please bring your completed shoebox to church on Sunday 19th November.
Alternatively you can take it to the church office beforehand at Kings House, Worthing Rd, Southwater, RH13 9JB (at the entrance to Southwater Business Park)
